作者介绍

Margaret Wise Brown 玛格莉特·怀兹·布朗，1910年出生于纽约。“怀兹”是英文“聪明”的音译。玛格莉特正是一位绝顶聪明、才华横溢的传奇女子。她不但为孩子写了100多本童书，更与一群好友一起为儿童文学的教育、创作与出版开拓出影响深远的天地。虽然她从来没有结过婚，也没有自己的孩子，但是她却对孩子，特别是幼儿期的孩子的心理、情绪和兴趣有着深刻的认识。她擅长用精简、游戏性、有韵的优美文字来铺陈故事，不但能深深打动孩子的心，更能开发孩子的想像力，让他们创造出自己的诗文。1952年，42岁的玛格莉特在法国旅行途中突然逝世。
